One thing about my job… there is a ridiculous amount of paperwork. Paperless office? Don’t kid yourself.
There are more forms available online all the time, but of course they all expect you to print them off and fill them out by hand. Anything that can help me cut down the amount of time I have to spend writing the same info out over and over again is great with me!
I’m using Foxit for my usual PDF needs, but I’m a cheap bastard and don’t want to pay for the full version with the typewriter function. Looks like this might do the trick.
Featured Windows Download: Fill out any PDF with PDF-XChange Viewer
Windows only: Freeware application PDF-XChange Viewer is a quick PDF reader that lets you perform all kinds of useful PDF editing tasks.
Among all of the features (and it is rich with them), PDF-XChange Viewer's killer feature is the Typewriter editing mode, which lets you overlay text anywhere on a PDF–a feature that's invaluable for filling out forms that aren't actually made to work as PDF forms (we've all been there). Add to that thumbnail previews, a nice tabbed interface, bookmarks, and sticky notes, and PDF-XChange Viewer is a formidable PDF tool. It may not be poised to replace Foxit Reader, but if you fill out a lot of PDFs, it’s definitely worth a place in your Programs folder.
